Goose Lake State Recreation Area Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"On the Oregon-California border, Goose Lake is an enormous Great Basin lake between distant low ridges. Water levels fluctuate from year to year. The campground is slightly removed from the lake, occupying a flat of lawn and shade trees. The site parking is paved. Fields and willows, with mowed passageways through them, stretch at the outskirts of camp. Giant lupine and wild rose color these corridors where songbirds flourish. This camp is a favorite with birders. Quail roam through the camp, western tanagers decorate tree branches, and migrant and resident waterfowl visit the lake. Goose Lake welcomes fishing and boating, but the access is away from camp."
