Whiteface Peak

Whiteface Peak Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Mountain Lakes Wilderness is the one of the smallest in Oregon at only 23,071 acres. It is home to a collection of moderate peaks that are fun for scramblers who enjoy the challenge of steep talus slopes and uninterrupted views of the heavily treed wilderness dotted with tiny lakes and tarns.

This special wilderness features a lake basin in the caldera from a collapsed volcano, similar to Crater Lake. Special considerations: The Mountain Lakes Wilderness map covers the area of all three USGS maps and has 20-foot contour lines."
