Gerber Reservoir is a 3,830-acre playground for water-loving campers. Fishing, swimming, boating, and birding are all popular. Near the dam, this camp is generally quieter and has roomier sites set farther back from shore than its northern counterpart. Ponderosa pines supply the shade; a basalt-studded sage prairie fans out from camp. Watch the skies for bald eagles, which nest at the north end of the lake.
