Big Bend Recreation Site Professional Review and Guide
"These well-spaced sites claim a broad river bench, where the North Fork John Day River swings a lazy bend. Each site is paired with at least one juniper for shade; parking is on the grassy flat. Across from the camp rises a steep, grassy slope with rimrock tiers and showings of mountain mahogany. You can fish, swim, or explore the John Day Country. Deer sometimes frequent the river. Fires and smoking are prohibited from June to mid-October."
