Klamath Canyon Professional Review and Guide
"In an area not normally thought of as desert or canyon country, a spectacular semi-desert canyon, featuring a road that follows both the canyon rim and the water’s edge. Patches of snow in winter. Steep segments with extremely muddy patches in fall, winter, and spring due to all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) activity.Southern Oregon and far northern California are neither canyon country nor desert. Many longtime residents are therefore surprised when I tell them of an immense semidesert canyon right in their backyard. Very few are aware of this spectacular and challenging drive, one that underscores the diversity and the infinite surprises the region has to offer. The Klamath is the only river besides the Columbia to breech the Cascade Range, and it does so right here! The river originates in Upper Klamath Lake, just east of the High Cascades, near Klamath Falls."
