This campground rests on a low, broad knoll above a Klamath River reservoir in a pleasant setting of pine, juniper, sage, bitterbrush, and bunchgrass. Beyond camp stretches an arid prairie inhabited by quail and jackrabbits. You may fish, boat, water-ski, birdwatch, and swim at a designated site. Near the dam, cormorants commonly line up on the boom. Elsewhere, white pelicans, great blue herons, egrets, night herons, ospreys, swallows, and ducks bid you to raise your binoculars.
