Wallowa Lake State Recreation Area

Wallowa Lake State Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This popular campground sits on the south shore of Wallowa Lake, a large glacial moraine lake watched over by snowy peaks. In a lawn-and-forest setting, the camp offers comfortable, developed sites within footsteps of the oval lake, its recreation, and prized trails into the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Nearby attractions include Chief Joseph’s grave, the steepest vertical-lift gondola in North America (Wallowa Lake Tramway), horse concessions for trail rides, and Wallowa Loop Scenic Drive."
