Tenderfoot Wagon Road

Tenderfoot Wagon Road Professional Review and Guide

"Tenderfoot Wagon Road Trail is a backpacking route from Salt Creek Summit Sno- Park and Trailhead to North Fork Imnaha River Trail. From the trailhead to just past the Tenderfoot Trailhead connecting trail junction, the trail goes through the burn area of the 1989 Canal Fire. This route follows the historic Tenderfoot Wagon Road, which was built in the first decade of the twentieth century. The wagon road was built as an access route to the Tenderfoot Mine and Town site. It was soon discovered that the mine had been salted, and the only real mining that had been done was from the pockets of the investors from the East. Burned areas along this trail have improved the views. (Trail 1819)"
