Sacajawea Peak via Thorp Creek Basin

Sacajawea Peak via Thorp Creek Basin Professional Review and Guide

"This fairly steep hike climbs from Hurricane Creek Trail to the summit of Sacajawea Peak. Sacajawea was surveyed in the fall of 2013 by Eric Stahlke, using up-to-date GPS equipment, and was found to be the highest peak in the Wallowa Mountains.

After crossing Hurricane Creek the trail goes east for a short distance and enters an open, grassy area. It then climbs gradually to the southeast through the open area. The trail soon enters the timber again and crosses Twin Creek (5,650 ft.). Although Thorp Creek Trail is not marked, it usually has had enough use to be fairly obvious."
