Lakes Basin

Lakes Basin Professional Review and Guide

"Backpack from Six Mile Meadow into the Lakes Basin, an area studded with subalpine Lakes. This trail is one of the main access routes to the popular Lakes Basin area. Take the time to camp for a few nights and explore one or more of the side routes that start here. (Trail 1810)

Lakes Basin Trail turns right (west) off the West Fork Wallowa River Trail (1820). A quarter mile from the junction it crosses the West Fork Wallowa River. There is a good campsite on the right just before crossing the river. Camping in Six Mile Meadow is prohibited, so please camp back in the trees.
After crossing the West Fork, the trail soon crosses Lake Creek."
