This roomy, well-developed camp, with separate equestrian and traditional family campsites, occupies a one-time compound of the Civilian Conservation Corps. The camp rests within a short trail distance of the Nehalem River in deep woods of lovely big Douglas firs, bigleaf maples, vine maples, and alders. Trails extend outward from camp. The Triple C Trail heads north off Cochran Road across from the day-use trailhead parking lot. By going south on the Gales Creek Trail, you’ll reach Gales Creek Forest Camp in 9 miles.
