Cornucopia

Cornucopia Professional Review and Guide

"This downhill day hike goes from Summit Point Trailhead to Cornucopia. The trail is mostly on old mine trails and roads. To hike this one way, as described here, a car shuttle is required.

From Summit Point Trailhead hike 2.5 miles north along the ridgetop on the Cliff Creek Trail (1885), passing below (west of) Summit Point Lookout, to the junction with the Cornucopia Trail (7280 ft). The area around the Cornucopia junction is mostly ridgetop meadows. It is a likely place to see mule deer, especially big bucks. There are ponds and streams here, which make it a good place to camp."
