Olive Lake Professional Review and Guide
"This campground is on the east shore of peaceful Olive Lake. Lodgepole pines, firs, spruces, and larches contribute to the forested basin. Enlarged by an earthen dam, the lake invites fishing and boating. Fremont Powerhouse Historic District (8 miles east of camp) makes an interesting side trip. This restored station powered the gold boom of eastern Oregon. Its wooden pipeline can be seen in several places throughout the area. Near camp, trails venture into North Fork John Day Wilderness and Indian Rock–Vinegar Hill Scenic Area."
