Little Crater Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Little Crater Lake, the star attraction of this camp, is an artesian-fed lake of dazzling color. Though only an acre in size, the lake is 45 feet deep. The water is 34 degrees Fahrenheit, and its clarity reveals silvery logs on the lake bottom. The lake’s rustic viewing platform is just a pleasant meadow walk from camp; meadow wildlife sightings are common. Lupine, gentian, and false hellebore sprinkle color in the meadow. For longer adventures, an earthen trail beyond the lake links up with the Pacific Crest Trail in 0.5 mile. The campground itself is tucked in forest and has gravel parking spurs."
