This is a very scenic out-and-back ride, with close-up views of Mount Hood as well as views into the Badger Creek Wilderness. Expect some tough climbing and fun descents. Try the hike up to Lookout Mountain for an even better view. Tread: 23.6 miles gravel jeep road. Hazards: Some fast, rocky descents with lots of shaded areas and exposure.

The road from Lookout Mountain to Badger Lake (on the way to Gov't Camp heading southwesterly, is a two-track one lane trail no more than, and occasionally less than 10 ft wide, with a four to 1500 foot drop off immediately out the car window. The view of Mt Hood, the Three Sisters, mt Jefferson, etc, is so beyond describing that you have to go. This trail is definitely one of the best I've been on EVER, but it is for ATVs or bikes or feet, not the wheels of a four wheel drive auto.
