This lofty camp puts you in an alpine meadow and fir-hemlock setting just below timberline on Mount Hood. Mount Hood offers year-round skiing and snowboarding and is one of the most climbed peaks in the country. The superb Timberline Trail encircles the mountain, and you can visit historic Timberline Lodge, noted for its stone masonry and woodwork. Because the camp appeals to snowboarders, it tends to be livelier than other area campgrounds.
