Yellowjacket Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"A beautiful loop, beginning at a lake and winding through forest, mountaintop, and multiple meadows. Among the many interesting facets of Yellowjacket Loop—the meadows, wildflowers, and mountain views—the thing you’ll likely notice first are the many trail junctions. Although the trail is well marked and easy to follow, it’s important to keep an eye out for the signs at various junctions that point you in the correct direction.
From the campground trailhead at the bulletin board, Yellowjacket Loop heads to a large floral meadow crossed by a boardwalk. The meadow, like six other meadows in the next 2 miles, is home to coneflower, spirea, Queen Anne’s lace, butterweed, Indian paintbrush, columbine, and, above all, corn lily."
