This tiny, lightly used campground rests in a stand of old-growth Douglas firs above the Clearwater River and Whitehorse Falls. Rhododendrons and chinquapins complement the towering trees. At the camp’s small picnic area, a viewing platform overlooks the 12-foot falls. A stair-step series of small cascades precedes the falls, and a deep, tranquil pool collects the plummeting water before it continues downstream. Additional falls along OR 138 may suggest outings, as will Toketee, Lemolo, and Diamond Lakes.
