University Falls via the Gravelle Brothers Trail

University Falls via the Gravelle Brothers Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Gravelle Brothers Trail is named for the twin brothers Edmond and Elroy Gravelle, who devoted a tremendous amount of time developing the early Tillamook State Forest trail system. Hike the trail through the mixed forest of the well-regenerated Tillamook Burn to beautiful University Falls. While this is not the shortest way to reach University Falls, the ease of access and the pleasant hike through the forest make it very rewarding.

To reach the trail, walk southwest from the large parking area at Rogers Camp Trailhead along the entrance road (the way you drove in), to the northeast corner of the Oregon Department of Transportation yard. This corner of the yard is next to OR 6. Turn left and follow the shared OHV and hiking trail around the east and south sides of the yard. At the southwest corner of the yard, bear left on a gravel roadbed. After following the roadbed for 0.2 mile, bear to the right on the Gravelle Brothers Trail. There is a sign marking the point where the trail leaves the roadbed."
