Middle Fork Smith River: 6 Miles above Patrick Creek to Patrick Creek Professional Review and Guide
"This run, which is seldom done, has a spectacular but very tight gorge. The authors ran it when the Jedediah Smith State Park gauge read about 8000 cfs, a good level. The most difficult parts of the gorge can be scouted by walking along US 199 for a mile or so above Patrick Creek. The remainder of the run is not visible from the road. Other drops need careful consideration from the river. Character: canyon; forested."
