At Rujada, a pleasant little campground, Laying Creek is fairly small. Its flow increases dramatically after 1.5 miles, however, when Brice Creek enters from the left. Downstream are numerous Class III rapids (Class IV at high water) and many surf waves for play. The scenery is pleasant, but not striking. A thin layer of trees separates the river and the road, which leads to numerous farmhouses and cow pastures.
