Barlow Pass

Elkhorn, Oregon

Barlow Pass Professional Review and Guide

"There’s a great view of Mount Hood at the top, along with a one-way car-shuttle option that ends at Timberline Lodge, but this convenient, not-too-tough hike is all about the forest, traversing some of the finest high-elevation old-growth around and ending at an Oregon landmark.

The first part of the trail isn't too exciting; in fact, after 0.5 mile, you'll traverse a fairly recent clearcut. In the early summer, the ground with be blanketed with wildflowers. In late summer, you'll see several species of huckleberries."
