Detailed Trail Descriptions from Our Guidebooks

Fred Barstad
"A fairly steep trail leads from Moccasin Lake over spectacular Glacier Pass to Glacier Lake. This trail connects the Lakes Basin with the West Fork Wallowa River and Glacier Lake. (Trail 1806) From the junction with Lakes Basin Alternate Trail 1810A, the Glacier Pass Trail heads south and crosses the inlet of Moccasin Lake. There are stepping stones crossing the inlet stream. After leaving Moccasin Lake, the trail goes up and down over outcroppings of glacially eroded granite. At 0.3 mile it crosses a small stream."
