Thielsen Creek Meadows

Thielsen Creek Meadows Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A hike along a bubbling creek to a meadow directly below Southern Oregon’s second- highest peak. Options to further explore the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Mount Thielsen is a spectacular sight from any direction, but the view from the grassy alpine glen of Thielsen Creek Meadows is second to none.

The mountain’s narrow spire shoots thousands of feet above a creek winding through an open meadow. The journey to this magic spot does require some work, traversing Howlock Mountain Trail for 3.2 miles before swinging onto Thielsen Creek Trail (#1449). The meadows themselves offer a stunning camping or lunch spot just o ff the trail near the PCT."
