A very challenging road with a magnificent trailhead area for the Pacific Crest Trail, which leads north into the Olallie Lakes area and south to Mt. Jefferson, Oregon’s second highest peak. Terrific views of Mt. Jefferson from the road. The road also leads to Breitenbush Lake on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Very narrow, slow, and bumpy. Much traffic on weekends, some of it hauling boats.

I wasn't very impressed with the trail. It wasn't challenging at all--and it was my first time off-highway riding. The views were not as impressive as the guide lets on, and the only time I saw Jefferson was on the way back down, AFTER I got to the pavement... I wish I had done Elk Lake that day...
