Big Lake and Big Lake West Professional Review and Guide
"The primary campground occupies the north shore of Big Lake, while the walk-in tent sites line the west shore. Big Lake is an aptly named natural lake below Hayrick and Hoodoo Buttes. Mount Washington adds to skyline views. Sites are nestled in a high-elevation forest of firs, hemlocks, and lodgepole pines. A few snags on the west shore have been carved with totems. The lake offers fishing, swimming, boating, and waterskiing, as well as canoeing along the scalloped shoreline. Area trails visit Patjens Lakes and Mount Washington Wilderness Area."
