We started this trail from the Sunriver end (it begins off Circle 7 in Sunriver) and had to turn back at Benham Falls due to time constraints. Our experience was great. The majority of the ride parallels the Deschutes River and offers some spectacular views. The trail is very well maintained and rideable for all skill levels. We saw little kids out there doing fine and even a couple on a tandem. This is a great ride for anyone who just wants to get out and enjoy the river and mountain views. Highly recommended, especially if you're staying in Sunriver and want to get off the paved bike paths.

I rode this trail this summer and it is now one of my all time favorites. We did the trail in two days, starting frow the lower trailhead and going up about 15 miles and then back. The lower section of this trail is amazing. Rolling hardpacked singletrack going through something like the setting of the forest moon of endor on Return of the Jedi. You'll feel like you're riding a speeder as you navigate this trail that meanders through the forest next to the river. The next day we picked up the trail where we left it and rode up past two incredible waterfalls and around the clearest lake i've ever seen. This day's ride was very technical in sections, climbing and descending through sharp and menacing volcanic rocks. Total distance (all singletrack) for the two out and back trips was a little over 50 miles. I'll definately be back.
