Crater Lake Pinnacles Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"A short, fascinating route to the Pinnacles area of Crater Lake National Park from the opposite direction. The Pinnacles are very tall, narrow spires formed when escaping gas hardened columns of the surrounding loose volcanic ash; the unhardened ash later eroded away, exposing the spires. They are very impressive.
Pets are not allowed on any trail in Crater Lake National Park. Access to the trailhead is easier from the national park end and is entirely paved. However, if you start from the national forest end, you will save the park entrance fee, see a bunch more pinnacles from the car—and be the only one there."
