"The only access to the shore of Crater Lake. Also the takeoff point for boat rides. Optional (and magnificent) hike on Wizard Island to the top of a large cinder cone. This is a hike everyone should take and almost everyone who lives in Oregon eventually does. The boat ride around the lake is a great way to experience the most scenic attraction in a very scenic state. Park entrance fee charged per vehicle. No pets are permitted on trails in Crater Lake National Park. There is no water on this trail, and it can get very hot and humid; however, the hike isn’t very long. The trail is almost always crowded, and people on the way up often appear physically stressed." Read more
