This run is characterized by a narrow streambed with class 3 and 4 pool drop rapids spiced up by several larger drops, all of which are easy to portage. Scout carefully. The first mile is the most difficult. Several small ledges are followed by three big drops. The first is Trestle Rapid. Scout left. The best line is to skidjump off the end of the- shaped ledge on river left, although runs down the center have been made. Just downstream is Arthur’s Ledge; scout or portage left. At low water, the right route is advised, but at high flow a nasty hydraulic develops. Downstream 50 yards is Pogo, a tricky drop that has been runby dropping through a slot just left of the bedrock island. Scout from this island. About 0.5 mile downstream is Cheese Grater; scout from the left. Runs down the center have been made but take care. Character: forested.
