This campground occupies a mixed, multistoried forest of firs, dogwoods, madrones, filberts, and yews. It is contained within a bend of Sucker Creek at its confluence with Grayback Creek. The barrier-free Grayback Interpretive Trail offers views of Sucker Creek and leads to a falls-viewing platform. The campground lies en route to Oregon Caves National Monument and is within an easy drive of a couple of Illinois Valley wineries.
