Ainsworth State Park Professional Review and Guide
"The developed campsites rest in close proximity to one another, separated by small divides of nonnative landscaping, but they serve as a convenient base for exploring the area. The Columbia River Gorge has a wealth of vistas, natural attractions, trails, and history. Driving west on the Historic Columbia River Highway opens the doorway to discovery. By following the Gorge Trail, which skirts camp, you may visit Oneonta Gorge and Ponytail, Horsetail, and Triple Falls. Autumn visitors to Multnomah Falls can spy spawning salmon in Multnomah Creek below the falls. At 620 feet, Multnomah Falls is the fourth-tallest falls in the nation; its historic lodge—with visitor center, gift shop, and restaurant—is a popular stop."
