A wide gravel multi-use trail that travels through a second-growth Douglas fir forest. You’ll enjoy the smooth graded surface on this 20-mile multi-use trail that travels through a serene forest canopy. The route described here is a 4-mile out-and-back section of this trail. However, from the Buxton Trailhead you have the option of heading 14 miles north or 6 miles south as the trail follows the old rail line. This easy track gives you the freedom to go on a slow afternoon ramble or an ambitious marathon. You’ll share the trail with mountain bikers, equestrians, and hikers—but more than likely you’ll have the trail all to yourself.
