This family campground occupies a gentle, pine-clad slope above the west shore of Yellowjacket Lake. A small earthen dam creates this elongated lake at the foot of a low ridge. At the lake’s north and south ends, willows and marsh claim the shallows, and coots and ducks rear their young. The deeper water toward the lake’s center is suitable for fishing tubes and small boats. The camp can fill up on summer weekends and holidays.
