A warm pool hidden 0.8 mile off the beaten track in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Swimwear: a hat and bug juice. Spring water at 89 degrees F flows out between the boulders just below the old road into a shallow pool that’s a scant 6 feet across and 18 inches deep in the center. A rocky border is all that separates it from a swamp, so don’t forget the bug juice.
