Ludlum House

Ludlum House Professional Review and Guide

"The Ludlum House is scenically located at the confluence of Wheeler Creek and the Winchuck River. The site is both shaded and open with a grassy lawn. It has two rooms (with 3/4 dividing wall upstairs); a ground floor surrounding covered porch; a huge wood stove, and minimal interior furnishings (no beds). The first floor and grounds are wheelchair accessible. Maximum use capacity is 30 indoors, and 60 total for the house and surrounding grounds. There is a dry sink and food preparation counter. There is no electricity, but basic lighting is provided with several propane and battery powered lanterns.

Amid groves of myrtle and redwood, this homestead is in the Coast Range of the Siskiyou Mountains in southwestern Oregon. The Pacific Ocean is just a 30-minute drive away. A mature Oregon myrtle grove shades the cabin’s large parking area—which is suitable for passenger cars and recreational vehicles. Several picnic tables surround the campfire pit. Other picnic tables are scattered amid the trees. The front porch is just 100 feet from Wheeler Creek."
