Blue Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Between the two featured hikes in the Gearhart Wilderness, the Blue Lake Trail is the easier and more surprising. Unlike the full Gearhart Mountain Trail, the route to popular Blue Lake doesn’t feature dramatic cliff faces or sweeping mountain vistas.

What it does have is a much easier hike through a beautiful forest of quaking aspen trees draped in lichen, with pink stones along the North Fork of the Sprague River. Autumn brings brilliant yellow color to the aspens. Blue Lake is circular body of water in a forested setting offering plenty of campsites and fishing opportunities."
