Newberry National Volcanic Monument: East Lake Professional Review and Guide
"On the south shore of 1,000-acre East Lake, these campsites sit close together in a stand of lodgepole pines. East Lake is one of a pair of deepwater lakes contained in the collapsed bowl of Newberry Volcano. The lake is popular with boaters and with anglers, who vie for rainbow and German brown trout and kokanee, as well. A sandy beach is found at the boat launch, and fine trails explore the geologic wonderland of Newberry National Volcanic Monument."
