The Ikenick Sno-Park, whose name is a marginally clever short form of the name Isaac Nickerson, accesses some great, well-marked beginner loops. There’s even the prospect of a skier–snowshoers’ shelter getting built on this particular loop. Until then, the best part of this trail, which you can do in about 2 hours, is a view of the Three Sisters mountains, which is worth putting on the cover of a scenic calendar. Rarely do you get such a perfectly framed view of those three beautiful mountains. That also gives you a hint of why the forest service and local touring groups plan to put a shelter here.
