"A scenic hike, easy for kids, along the Deschutes River. The ponderosa pines and a number of hardwoods make the trail a nice place to be come fall. Special attractions: Beautiful cascading waterfall; great colors in fall."

Very easy walk, beautiful scenery. Great for a puppy and a child! Paths are quite wide, and all fairly even. Slight descent and ascent to get to the falls viewing area...very slight. All in all a quick walk to enjoy the outdoors and not be too hard on the young ones.

Gorgeous scenery, but mosquitoes were HORRIBLE! It ruined the hike. But the scenery is gorgeous if the mosuitoes were not so bad. Been hiking all of the world and never seen mosquitoes like that in my life!

My mom and I hiked this trail and just couldn't get over how beautiful the whole hike was... so we brought the rest of our family the next day. We continued past the turn around point onto Dillion Falls (which weren't as breathtaking as Benham Falls, but still worth the effort!) and then headed back. It made for a great afternoon hike. The river running next to the trail keeps you cool and the lava flows on the oppisite side make for nice views. There where a few mt. bikes (great way to see the trail) that we had to dodge, but I thought it was the highlight of our vacation in Oregon.

The Benham Falls trails was a nice easy hike/walk that has some nice views of the Deschutes River the adjacent lava fields and of course the falls. This would also be great for a light out-and-back jog as well on this wood chipped trail.
