Davis Lake is 60 miles southwest of Bend. Tread: singletrack. Hazards: downed trees may be plentiful and are dangerous to cross. Maintain control on the descent back to the trailhead. You can avoid most of the lodgepoles and reduce the length of the ride to 15.2 miles by starting at the trailhead off FR 4652. To reach this trailhead, go north on the Cascade Lakes Highway, 0.5 mile past the FR 4660 junction, to FR 4652. Turn west onto FR 4652 and follow it 3.5 miles to FR 400. The trailhead is 0.5 mile up FR 400.
