Mount Ashland Professional Review and Guide
"The campsites—primarily walk-in sites—radiate from both sides of FR 20. Campers enjoy the spectacular high-elevation tapestry of the south flank of Mount Ashland: clusters of big-diameter firs, alpine meadows, grassland, and rocky jumbles. Views from the camp are of the rocky crest of Mount Ashland to the north and the snowy crown of 14,000-foot Mount Shasta (in California) to the south. You may spy grouse, juncos, and jays. This camp is close to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, which follows the crest of the Siskiyou Mountains here."
