Thomas Creek drainage is situated between the North Santiam River and Crabtree Creek. It is fed by winter rain runoff. The upper section of Thomas Creek descends in pool drop fashion through a steep-sided river valley that has limited access by road. A scenic 40-foot falls is 1 mile upstream of the put-in. A half mile below the Hall Creek put-in is a nasty chute that plunges directly into a wall from a pool trapped by several very large boulders. Scout and, possibly, portage on the left. Character: forested; logging.
