Illinois River-West Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This trail visits the beautiful, steep, and rocky lower Illinois River canyon, near the confluence with the Rogue River. Highlights include two stunning creeks. There is a small picnic area and parking for 15 cars.
In many ways, the west side of the Illinois River Trail is very similar to the east side. The Illinois canyon is spectacular, the terrain is rugged, and wildflowers abound. The main differences on the west side are a pair of truly stunning creeks—Indigo and Silver—with scenic bridges that cross them. Indigo Creek makes a good day-hike goal (9.4 miles round-trip) and offers rocky beaches and possible swimming holes at Indian Flat."
