Clifton Gorge

Clifton Gorge Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Visitors have been hiking Clifton Gorge for two centuries. No wonder, as the Little Miami River flows in rapids and pools below sheer canyon walls. Footpaths travel both below and above the gorge rim. Your trek will take you along the river and past giant boulders in rich woods. Bridge the Little Miami River, a national scenic river, and continue downstream in an amazing environment that is deservedly designated a National Natural Landmark.

Cross back over the Little Miami near John Bryan State Park, eventually gaining the rim of the gorge, which offers a different perspective on your return trip. Try to visit during off times, as the state nature preserve can be crowded on fair- weather weekends."
