Prairie Oaks Metro Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The 2,203-acre park sits on what was some of Ohio’s greatest prairie lands before early settlers arrived and began to change the landscape. Today, the rich soils of the Darby Creek Watershed again host native prairie plants thanks to park managers and staff. A maze of trails covers the park with plenty of options for a variety of nature interaction. Two meadows of wildflowers and tall grasses make plenty of wildlife sightings likely. You’ll slide by three deep-blue quarry lakes, where fishing is permitted, and climb the Sycamore Trail along the Big Darby Creek bottomlands. This hike includes the Darby Creek, Lake View, Alder, Sycamore, and Coneflower Trails."
