South Bass Island/Oak Point State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"South Bass Island/Oak Point is actually two separate tracts of land on the same island, each with its own name, but so close as to be essentially one facility. South Bass is on the island’s western edge, as is the campground. It’s also the larger of the two parks, even at a mere 33 acres (the whole island is only 3.7 miles wide by 1.5 miles long). The park is a scenic landmark when viewed from the water and in turn offers great views of the lake from its shores. The wooded campground and lakeside picnic area are a quiet retreat, especially compared to nearby Put-In- Bay. Sometimes called “the Key West of Lake Erie,” it’s located on the island’s eastern side."
