Pymatuning State Park Professional Review and Guide
"When it comes to Pymatuning it’s all—or at least mostly—about the fishing. Pymatuning Lake covers about 17,000 acres and offers some of the finest walleye, crappie, bass, channel catfish, and musky fishing in all of Ohio. The lake straddles the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. That means there are some unique rules to keep in mind, though. The two states have agreed to limit boat motors to 20 horsepower and, so long as you are in a boat, you can fish anywhere with a fishing license from either state. If you are on shore, you need a license from that state. As for where on this giant lake to start, a call to the Ohio Division of Natural Resources at (330) 644- 2293 will get you not only a map of Pymatuning Lake and the site of man-made habitat structures, but also GPS coordinates for those hot spots. While you’re here, head east to Pennsylvania and check out its facilities. Near the town of Linesville you can visit a wildlife visitor center and see bald eagles, check out a state-run fish hatchery and, most impressively, see the thousands of carp that gather at the spillway in such numbers that “ducks walk on the fish’s backs.”"
