Piedmont Marina Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Located primarily in Belmont County, Piedmont Lake encompasses nearly 2,300 acres, with another 4,500 acres of woods and fields around it. It’s almost 10 miles long and marked by countless finger-shaped coves extending from the main stem. That, and the surrounding rough, hilly, wooded terrain, makes it in the eyes of many the most beautiful of all the Conservancy District lakes. Another attraction is the big fish to be found. The lake is home to muskies—they get big enough that the state record is a 55.13-pound fish caught here in 1974—as well as channel and flathead catfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappies, bluegills, yellow perch, and saugeyes. Your best chance to get a muskie is Apr–May by trolling deep-diving plugs, according to some angler log data."
