This hike travels through the southern portion of the Rowe Woods at Cincinnati Nature Center, exploring the aquatic and land scenery of the preserve. You will first visit Powel Crosley Lake before leaving the beaten path on the Whitetail Trace, visiting meadows, prairies, woods, and ponds. Wander into the upper valley of East Branch Avey’s Run, where you can see first-hand stream and wetland restoration. The final part of the hike climbs over hills before returning to East Branch Avey’s Run, where a waterfall spills over a limestone lip. Make a final climb, returning to Powel Crosley Lake and completing the circuit.
